Steve Miller a bad guitar player? That may be one of the dumbest statements I have ever heard. Steve plays the blues very well and his real fans enjoy when he mixes it up. I guess your one of those people who also gets bent out of shape when Neil Young decides to play newer material mixed in with classics instead of rehashing the same greatest hits setlist every night. Def not a music lover.

Very disappointed that he only sang about 1/2 of his hits and then a bunch of stuff I never heard before and don't have any intention on hearing again. He skipped some classics such as Jungle Love. WTF. Stick to the classics and maybe a few crap songs that Steve likes and call it a night.

I do go to most "classic rock" concerts in my area unless I've seen them too many times. This is my first time seeing Steve Miller. Love his recorded music which is a little over played on the radio. But I knew something was wrong when he opened with Fly Like an Eagle and then did 10 minutes of solo's in the middle that included his bass guitarist and the organist that proceeded with a hip-hop rap thing...now this was the first song! After a couple of familiar songs he then got into a blues thing for about a half hour. Most of the (sold out) audience were either trying to keep awake or getting drunk. I don't know how anyone this famous could be such a bad guitar player? I thought I was watching a bar band at the Banana Boat. Then worse of all he tried to play some famous blues such as "Crossroads" that Cream/Eric Clapton made famous...big mistake. Someone has got to tell this guy to stick to your 15 or so hits! Some classic rockers have perfected their classics and understand what their audience wants...the ones that don't end up playing at Cypress Gardens (where he played the next night)or a Seafood Festival. That's where this band belongs despite all their hits. They did not deserve the sold out Boca Raton crowd In contrast, Roger Waters who has no voice, had a tight band that played the music you wanted to hear to perfection!
Who played a bluesy set on the 96 Rock stage on the first night of the festival. Chris McKay / concertshots.com
