I have seen Clutch a good 20 + times. They played a free show in Chicago that was just outside downtown on 7/11. This was the first time I seen them play outdoors, and boy does it make a difference. In terms of sound quality, None of the previous 20 + times I seen them compared to the sound. If you plan on seeing them in the near future, expect a lot of songs from their latest album. Lately they have been playing a lot of newer songs. Nothing wrong with that; I am just used to seeing them mix it up better and that hasn't been the case in 2009. If you get a chance to catch them at an outdoor concert, do so. You will not be dissappointed.

I don't know the actual date of the show, but I guess you can't post a review unless you do, so I made up a date. I'm pretty sure it was in '05 or '06. I saw CLutch for the first time on their tour for Robot Hive/Exodus. Having been a fan since Transnational Speedway League, I HAD to drive the 200 miles from Reno to catch the show. It was at a small club called The Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA. The opening act was William Elliott Whitmore, an awesome and soulful banjo player. Then Clutch hit the stage and TORE IT UP. They played for about an hour and fifteen before taking a fifteen minute break and returning for another forty five minutes. About the middle of the set, some a-hole fell into JP's bass drum and broke the drum head, but the band played on. By the end of the show, the front drum head was nothing more than a few flaps of skin swaying to the beat and it still sounded AWESOME. A few local Sacramento thugs tried to bring drama to the show, starting fights and what not, but Neil shut them down with his microphone and the show continued. I have seen many concerts in my life, but none have compared to this one display of raw talent and showmanship. We need more bands like this in the world
