Elton has put on a little weight. Billy is somewhat balder and maybe just a tad heavier than his prime. Now that I've spilled on the negative stuff, the show was above average. Elton's voice is as clear as ever, but his weight is an obvious strain on his ability to be the showman he once was. But, if you went to SEE Elton then you were probably going for the wrong reasons. He is still a master of the piano and his voice is unmistakable. However, for my money Billy Joel is the master of the duo. He is just the consumate showman. He has the uncanny ability to make you feel like he is still in his thirties and his voice is only an octave above his post pubescent classics. Wish they would come back into the South for a few more shows. I would pay to see them again...and that is saying a lot considering I'm a cheap sob.

This was probably my 15th time seeing Billy Joel live in the past 25+ years and I have never walked away from his shows disappointed! In my opinion, Billy has gotten better as he has gotten older. The night was cold and very, very rainy and we had opted to take the BART over to the Oracle for the show, which meant a long walk in the pouring rain. By the time my husband and I arrived at the doors to the arena, we were drenched, but for me, being a huge fan, I was not bothered because in a little while I would be seeing Billy again. From the time he took the stage, Billy held that audience in the palm of his hand. His band was great and I was especially in awe ofCrystal Taliefero, who probably plays every instrument known to man as well as singing, besides being one of the most beautiful and down to earth people I have every met! The woman is AMAZING! Billy was in fine form, cracking jokes and playing his heart out and the audience ate it up, only proving that Billy is indeed still a true superstar.
